Our Range of Vanilla Beans
Grade A Vanilla
Dark brown strong aromatic supple, plump vanilla. Gourmet or Grade A vanilla has an intense flavor profile for a richer, more flavorful and higher quality product. They are supple and moist and look visually attractive with a dark, oily texture. Fewer beans are required for more flavor over less time, so many executive chefs, master brewers, and distillers insist on Grade A vanilla beans.
Grade B Vanilla
Grade B vanilla is the most popular choice amongst our brewery, distillery, bakery, and home cookery customers. Compared to gourmet Grade A vanilla, they are a little smaller in size with a slightly less intense vanilla aroma and lower moisture content. Visually they are not as attractive, being lighter in color and less glossy. However, they are a good choice for a balance between budget and quality.
Extract Grade Vanilla
These are essentially the lowest grade vanilla and are primarily used where appearance and moisture content are not concerned. As the vanilla becomes drier, the intensity of the aroma is reduced however this does not mean that the vanilla has any less flavor. Extract grade vanilla is the best value as the lower moisture means you are not paying for the weight of the water content.
